In 1972 Master I.C.H.Tnay came to England to continue his studies. He had decided to locate a Tang Soo Do school on his arrival but at that time it was unknown in this country. He joined a Taekwondo club and became co-instructor giving students a choice of styles. He eventually split away with just 12 students and the Watford Tang Soo Do Association was formed. Membership gradually increased and in 1973 Master K U Lee (Master Tnay’s instructor) visited Watford from Malaysia and was asked to take over as Chief Instructor. The United Kingdom Tang Soo Do Federation (Moo Duk Kwan) was founded in 1974 and has Grandmaster Kang Uk Lee (10th Dan) as its President and Chief Instructor.The UKTSDF is the Sole Governing body for Tang Soo Do in the UK recognised by Sport UK and has trained over 26,000 students to date.

The INTERNATIONAL TANG SOO DO FEDERATION (MOO DUK KWAN) was formed in 1989 to unite and develop TANG SOO DO world-wide and it currently has the UKTSD Federation as its technical and administrative headquarters with Grandmaster K U Lee as its Founder and President.

Grand Master Lee was born in 1936 in Seoul, South Korea and began his studies at the Moo Duk Kwan in 1949. His vast knowledge of our art is world renowned and with his help and guidance the UK Tang Soo Do Federation has become one the United Kingdom’s leading Martial Arts.

TANG SOO DO as taught by the UKTSD Federation is very strictly traditional and controlled br Grand Master Lee who holds regular International training sessions for his instructors to enable them to be uniform in the instruction given to students throughout the UK and the world. The teachings are then easily checked at the regular grading ceremonies conducted by Grand Master Lee.

As head of the World Governing Federation base in Seoul, South Korea, Grand Master Lee’s guidance is sought after worldwide.
